J. Tarika Lewis
 J. Tarika Lewis, alias Matilaba, the first female member of the Black Panther Party, served as an on-the-set consultant to the film during production, and is noted for her illustrations in the Black Panther Community Newspaper. Now a graphic designer, she currently has her artwork featured in children's books. She also plays violin with legendary jazz artist John Handy. She lives in Oakland, California.
